For my first PAL back in the game, I prepped a 4-box series and a stand-alone, all of which I wanted to plant in Grays Harbor county. My thinking is that if the boxes are close to me, it will be easier and more efficient to maintain them.
It was a gloriously sunny day - picture-perfect for planting. Near Raymond there is a park where I had made some sweet memories boxing with my kids and my parents many years ago; unfortunately, it had to be closed do to wind storm damage back in 2008. To my great pleasure it has reopened and I thought that would be a great place to invite fellow boxers. What was so funny was that after just a few steps down the first trail we found a geocache with a killer 'garage door'! Alrighty then! Needless to say, we didn't plant around that tree! (It was a great one, though!)
Without too many spoilers, here are some pics from our Plant a Letterbox day:

the day started with crazy logbook & pouch making |

and then, out to find the ferns! |

People were a lot stronger then, I am sure. |

the coolest fiddleheads ... ever! |

With the series all tucked in, we set off to another location to plant that stand-alone box. And, after all that successful planting, we decided we needed to be successful finding! So we set off for a box along the Willapa Hills Trail that we hadn't snagged yet. Turns out, finding was just as satisfying as planting!

Raymond is famous for iron-work sculptures - fabulous! |

Obimaster blazin' a trail to the box! |
So, when you come to get these sweet boxes in Raymond, don't hesitate to stop at
Clark's Restaurant on your way back to Cosmopolis and grab some homemade soft-serve or maybe a homemade burger and fries. It is on Hwy 101 near Artic. You will not be sorry.
Happy Plant a Letterbox Day, everyone!
