The Columbia Hills State Park, formerly the Dalles Mountain Ranch, is a special place. So beautiful. And, there are boxes there if you are inclined to hike a bit. We chose to leave a drive-by letterbox here because it is amazingly worthy of a visit, but also because I have every intention of coming back. And when we do, we will be doing some hiking, without question.

While we were descending,
we were treated with this sight -
an osprey in its natural habitat.

We didn't see the fish at first -
we were so taken with her landing so close, |

 |
| there she goes! |

What a wonderful place to visit. I feel sorry for the poor fish that was caught but that's nature. So many beautiful places in the USA so little time.
