Findability.

Ha! You thought I was going to talk about the controversy, huh? Well, I am not. After the not-so-pleasant last interchange on AQ, I did some serious adjustments to my AQ experience. Did you know that you can ignore not only threads, but entire boards? Yep, it is true.

But the truth is that letterboxing is so much more than our favorite website. Some really fun things have happened here in the past week or so that make being part of this hobby an absolute delight and give me so much joy. And, it gives me hope and goes a long way in restoring my faith in humanity. I know, that sounds pretty lofty, but you know what I mean!

First, we had a fantastic visit with SN Bone and Dawgdok who decided to head to the coast and pick up some of the local boxes. What fun it was! It reminded me how much fun we used to have going to events: everyone talking at once, mad stamping and ink flying, and laughter - oh, so much laughter! We sat and talked and stamped and talked some more. Pure heaven :)

And then a real surprise: Baqash came for a visit. Again, the ink flowed and the conversation was rich and wonderful. I cannot express how special it is to rekindle old friendships, remember past times, and enjoy each other's company. It is the absolute best!

And in between all that, we made a shorty trip to Lynden to celebrate Samsonite's end-of-school-year - sheesh, this past year was a real bear. She did a fantastic job with the amazingly difficult remote learning, but I think we are all ready for her to have a break. While we were in Lynden we snagged a couple of boxes, did a little shoppin', and generally just took a big, deep, cleansing breath.

It was glorious to get out into the sunshine since we were
socked in with clouds and wind at the coast.

The schooner Zodiak was docked at the Port of Bellingham,
pretty close to a letterbox of a boxer close to my heart.

When we got back home, I had to buckle down and crank out a rough draft of a final project for school. Basically what that means is that there was no time for boxing or carving - only researching and writing like a mad fool. Which puts a real damper on doing anything creatively crafty.

It is supposed to be quite warm here on the coast (and blisteringly hot inland). I think 113* is definitely too hot to box in, so traveling around to track down boxes is out. We will be staying close to the coast an entire Sunday - dare I hope I could get to my lonely carving desk? *fingers crossed*
