About the Author

I live on the Coast of Washington State in a resort town called Ocean Shores. I spent 10 years or so in higher education, as a 'non-traditional student,' earning a baccalaureate in Religion (minors in Classics and Women/Gender studies), and two master's degrees - one in Humanities (Mindfulness Studies) and one in Psychology.

I am a mental health professional in real life. I live with my partner Obimaster (a retired graphic artist/editor for a newspaper), best friend Samsonite (an elementary school teacher), and youngest grown son who works locally in the tourism industry. My daughter is a elementary school teacher and lives in Seattle, and my middle son works as a diesel mechanic near Mt. Rainier.

In addition to LBing and carving, I live to travel (hotel and RV), enjoy hiking some, gardening some, and haunting antique shops. I have a committed meditation practice, but am not a member of any organized religion or sect, nor do we generally celebrate any holidays, either religious or secular. In a former life, I was an avid dancer. And, although I enjoy animals and the pets of others, I have chosen not to own any.

Some of my favorites include: the colors black & green, Mexican food, coffee, brandy, white chocolate, our MiniLite travel trailer and Silverado pickup, Star Wars (the 9 canon movies and anything Jedi-related), Tom Hanks, music of all sorts (especially Jesse Cook), sunshine & daisies, laughing with my grown children, road trips, the Oregon Coast, my little free library, documentaries, feeding and watching songbirds out my home office window, red beans & rice with Tabasco (and all things Southern, really), amber glass, Harry Potter (Hufflepuff represent!), Seattle history, compassion, the innocence of children, and all those I have considered friends over the years.
