stamp size 2.75" x 2"This is a fun carve from a photo I snapped of the old Coast Guard Station down in Westport. It is now a museum - a great hands-on place to take your kids and learn not only about seafaring on the Washington coast, but also about the area's cranberry growing and harvesting history. On the grounds are also fun whale and sea mammal bones to check out as well as a first-order Fresnel lighthouse lens taken from the light on Destruction Island when they upgraded to a modern, automated light.

I was just going through my logbook yesterday and paused to smile again at this image. Such a great carve...
I have a soft spot in my heart for the CG in Westport. Brave group to cross the bar on some of those dark and stormy nights. The history of the CG captured in an old station house. I'll be that is really neat to visit.
